I began playing acoustic guitar in 1972, and came to realize that there was a great need for improvement in tone, volume, ease of playing, and responsiveness in my guitar. When I had been playing for about ten years, I began seriously searching for what could be done to improve guitars.

About three years later, in 1985, I began working at Down Home Guitars in Anchorage, Alaska, where I began learning and exploring ways to improve guitar performance. At that time, as best as I could research, there were very few setup options.

Now, after more than twenty-two years of setting up guitars, I apply all my experience and knowledge to each individual and their unique instrument. I have seen that some guitar attributes lend themselves to far greater gains than others.

My goal is to thoroughly communicate with you about your instrument and the options available to you.I am committed to guiding you on the level of benefit you can expect from each setup option. You will know what you will get out of your guitar for every investment so you can make an informed decision each step of the way.
